it wasn't long after i arrived that i began to feel it was a place i could stay for awhile. and after a beer or two i tend to go on about the love that there is, unlike anything i've felt in other places
i decided to stay
but today i am very sad
final goodbyes are done. how to say goodbye to people like this? at first i tried to sabotage the party plans by postponing for various reasons, until they told me that it wasn't for me to decide. then i traveled north and came back to spend more time with the team. then i traveled east and came back again for even more time together. lunches, dinners, coffee ceremonies, talks, hugs and tears. even my massage therapist (who saved me during these last couple months) gave me a beautiful robe and a note to wish me well
just too bad that some of the non-Ethiopians we had to work with didn't have the same beautiful spirit
heartbreaking
i will miss them
