An organization named Mercer has published a report (this year) ranking the quality of living of cities in the world.
Vancouver is #3 (score 107).
Calgary is #25 (103).
Baghdad is last on the list (#215) with a score of 14.5... and pulling in just ahead at #214 is Brazzaville with a score of 30.0!!! Yes, the score is significantly higher (?) than Baghdad's, but second to last?
Yeah, ok, the electricity isn't so reliable... neither is the water... buses and taxes lineup for blocks because gas isn't regularly available...

there isn't a whole lot recreationally... but I am capable of creating my own entertainment, I am not being choked out by the pollution, I've experienced worse living arrangements, and I can walk home at night without fear of being robbed or kidnapped (even on a dark street if the electricity has cut out).
Sheesh!
